Roles & Responsibilities

As an IT Officer based in Qatar, your role will involve providing technical support, maintaining IT infrastructure, managing software and hardware systems, and ensuring the overall smooth operation of the organization's IT environment. You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues, implementing security measures, and supporting end-users. Key responsibilities include:

Technical Support:

Provide technical assistance and support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues in a timely and efficient manner.

Troubleshoot computer systems, software applications, and network problems, diagnosing and resolving technical issues.

Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, software packages, and peripheral devices.


Network and Systems Administration:

Manage and maintain the organization's network infrastructure, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks.

Monitor network performance, identify potential bottlenecks or security threats, and take preventive measures to ensure network availability and reliability.

Perform regular system backups, maintain disaster recovery plans, and implement data protection and security measures.

 

User Support and Training:

Provide user support, addressing inquiries and resolving technical problems related to software applications, systems, and equipment.

Assist with user onboarding, account creation, access management, and permissions configuration.

Conduct user training and orientation on IT systems, software applications, and security best practices.

 

IT Security and Data Protection:

Implement and enforce IT security measures, including user authentication, data encryption, and access controls.

Monitor and evaluate system vulnerabilities, conduct security audits, and implement appropriate security patches and updates.

Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and maintain the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.


Software and Hardware Management:

Manage software licenses, updates, and installations across the organization's systems and devices.

Monitor and maintain hardware inventory, perform upgrades or replacements as necessary, and coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs.


IT Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of IT assets, licenses, warranties, and service agreements.

Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, system diagrams, and standard operating procedures.

Generate reports on IT system performance, incident resolution, and other key metrics as required.


IT Project Support:

Assist in the planning, implementation, and management of IT projects, including system upgrades, software installations, and network expansions.

Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure smooth project execution and adherence to timelines.

Participate in the evaluation and recommendation of new technologies, software, and hardware solutions.

 

Desired Candidate Profile

 

Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft certifications) are advantageous.

Proven experience as an IT Officer, IT Support Specialist, or similar role, preferably in a corporate environment.

Strong technical knowledge of computer hardware, software, networks, and operating systems.

Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office applications, antivirus software, and remote desktop tools.

Knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and firewalls.

Experience with Active Directory, user management, and group policy administration.

Understanding of IT security principles, best practices, and compliance standards.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with end-users and stakeholders.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.

Knowledge of Qatar's IT infrastructure, regulations, and industry trends is advantageous.
