As a Seafood Manufacturing Production Manager based in Qatar, you will be responsible for overseeing the production operations of a seafood manufacturing facility. Your role will involve ensuring efficient and quality-driven production processes, managing a team, and maintaining adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Key responsibilities include:
Production Planning and Management:
Develop production plans, schedules, and strategies to meet production targets and customer demands.
Coordinate with various departments, such as procurement, logistics, and quality assurance, to ensure smooth production flow and timely delivery of products.
Monitor and analyze production metrics, such as yield, productivity, and efficiency, to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Team Management:
Lead and manage a team of production staff, including supervisors, technicians, and line workers.
Set performance goals, provide training and development opportunities, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
Foster a positive work environment, encourage teamwork, and ensure effective communication within the production team.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production processes, ensuring consistency and adherence to quality standards.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any non-compliance issues.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements in the production line.
Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and minimize waste.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce new technologies, equipment, or processes that enhance production capabilities.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
Monitor raw material inventory levels and coordinate with the procurement team to ensure availability of necessary inputs for production.
Collaborate with the supply chain team to optimize inventory turnover, minimize stockouts, and manage production costs effectively.
Health and Safety:
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture within the production facility.
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and implement appropriate safety protocols and training programs.
Investigate and report any accidents, incidents, or near misses, and take corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare production reports, including production output, efficiency, and quality metrics, and provide regular updates to management.
Maintain accurate production records, batch documentation, and other required paperwork.
Bachelor's degree in food science, food technology, manufacturing engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications or training in seafood processing and manufacturing are advantageous.
Proven experience in seafood manufacturing or food processing, with a strong understanding of seafood processing techniques, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse production team.
Knowledge of production planning and scheduling techniques, process optimization methodologies, and lean manufacturing principles.
Familiarity with food safety management systems, such as Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and relevant certifications (e.g., ISO, GMP).
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving production-related issues.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet production targets.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate clear and concise communication with team members and stakeholders.
Knowledge of Qatar's seafood industry, local market preferences, and regulatory framework is advantageous.
