As an Accountant based in Qatar, you will be responsible for managing financial records, performing financial analysis, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial transactions. Your role will involve maintaining financial data, preparing financial statements, monitoring budgets, and supporting financial decision-making. Key responsibilities include:
Financial Recording and Reporting:
Prepare, examine, and analyze financial statements, reports, and records to ensure accuracy and adherence to accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
Record financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and payroll.
Maintain proper documentation and supporting records for all financial activities.
Financial Analysis and Budgeting:
Perform financial analysis to assess financial performance, identify trends, and provide insights for decision-making.
Assist in the preparation of financial budgets, forecasts, and projections.
Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and provide recommendations for cost control and optimization.
Taxation and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and filing requirements.
Assist in the preparation and submission of tax returns, VAT reports, and other statutory filings.
Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations, communicating any impacts or requirements to relevant stakeholders.
Auditing and Internal Controls:
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary financial data and documentation.
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets, ensure accuracy of financial records, and prevent fraud.
Participate in the development and improvement of accounting policies, procedures, and systems.
Financial Systems and Software:
Utilize accounting software and tools to record, process, and analyze financial data.
Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to ensure the smooth operation and optimization of financial systems.
Provide support and training to team members on financial software usage and functionality.
Financial Planning and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of financial plans, including cash flow projections, investment analysis, and financial modeling.
Collaborate with management to provide financial insights, recommendations, and strategies to support business goals.
Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate financial information effectively to stakeholders, including management, team members, and external parties.
Respond to financial inquiries, provide clarification on financial matters, and support decision-making through data analysis and reporting.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CMA are advantageous.
Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role, preferably in Qatar or a similar market.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Solid understanding of financial statements, financial analysis, and budgeting.
Knowledge of Qatar's taxation laws and regulations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
