As a Cost Controller based in Qatar, specializing in the food and beverage industry, your role will focus on monitoring and controlling costs related to food and beverage operations. You will be responsible for analyzing financial data, implementing cost-saving measures, and ensuring efficient resource allocation. Key responsibilities include:
Cost Analysis and Reporting:
Monitor and analyze financial data, including food and beverage costs, inventory levels, and expenses.
Prepare regular cost reports, variance analysis, and performance indicators to track financial performance.
Identify cost-saving opportunities, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts for food and beverage operations.
Collaborate with management to establish cost control targets and financial objectives.
Monitor actual costs against budgeted amounts and provide explanations for variances.
Inventory Management:
Implement inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels, minimize waste, and prevent shortages.
Conduct regular stock reconciliations, ensure accurate inventory records, and perform inventory valuations.
Coordinate with purchasing and receiving teams to ensure timely and accurate inventory replenishment.
Menu Engineering and Pricing:
Collaborate with culinary and management teams to analyze menu profitability and cost implications.
Evaluate menu item profitability, food portioning, and pricing strategies to maximize revenue and minimize costs.
Monitor and update menu costing, taking into account ingredient costs, portion sizes, and production processes.
Vendor Management and Negotiation:
Collaborate with purchasing teams to identify cost-effective suppliers and negotiate favorable contracts and pricing.
Conduct vendor performance evaluations, assess quality and pricing consistency, and address any issues or discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.
Cost Control Implementation:

Provide guidance and training to operational teams on cost control practices.
Operational Support:
Work closely with operational teams, including chefs, kitchen staff, and service personnel, to optimize cost efficiency.

Financial Audits and Compliance:

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Additional certifications in cost accounting or finance are advantageous.
Proven experience as a Cost Controller, Cost Accountant, or similar role in the food and beverage industry.
Strong knowledge of cost control principles, financial analysis, and inventory management.
Familiarity with food costing methodologies, menu engineering, and pricing strategies.
Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software, such as Excel, ERP systems, and cost management applications.
Solid understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
