Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Web Server Administrator to join our dynamic team. As a Web Server Administrator, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our web server infrastructure to ensure its smooth and efficient operation. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the availability, reliability, and security of our web applications and websites.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and manage web server software (such as Apache, Nginx, IIS) on various platforms (Linux, Windows).
• Monitor and troubleshoot server performance, addressing any issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
• Implement and maintain security measures to protect the web server infrastructure from potential threats, including firewalls, SSL certificates, and access controls.
• Collaborate with developers, network administrators, and other IT staff to ensure seamless integration of web applications with the server infrastructure.
• Perform regular backups and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and quick recovery in case of server failures.
• Monitor server logs and analyze performance metrics to identify and resolve any bottlenecks or issues.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies related to web server administration and security.
• Document server configurations, processes, and procedures to maintain an organized knowledge base for the team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience as a Web Server Administrator or similar role, with a deep understanding of web server software (Apache, Nginx, IIS) and their configuration.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) and automation tools for server management.
• Experience with server monitoring and performance tuning tools.
• Solid understanding of web application architecture and protocols (HTTP, HTTPS).
• Knowledge of network protocols and security (TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
