Position Overview:

As a Maintenance Technician in a food factory, your primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth operation and reliability of all equipment and machinery used in the production process. You will be tasked with performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to minimize downtime and ensure the factory operates at its full potential. Your technical expertise and proactive approach will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and hygienic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Maintenance and Repairs:

  • Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on production machinery, conveyors, packaging equipment, and other factory systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues to identify and address malfunctions promptly.
  • Collaborate with production and other teams to resolve equipment-related problems and improve overall equipment performance.

Hygiene and Safety Compliance:

  • Follow established safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures when performing maintenance tasks to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene in maintenance areas and ensure that all equipment complies with food safety standards.

Spare Parts Management:

  • Monitor spare parts inventory and collaborate with the Manager to ensure an adequate supply of critical components and materials.
  • Maintain an organized record of spare parts usage, replacements, and reorder points.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process and equipment improvement to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety.
  • Propose and implement modifications or upgrades to existing equipment as needed.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive maintenance logs, records of repairs, and work orders for all equipment.
  • Provide regular maintenance reports to the Manager, highlighting key performance indicators and ongoing maintenance activities.

Compliance with Regulations:

  • Adhere to all relevant industry regulations, environmental guidelines, and factory policies while performing maintenance tasks.
  • Stay informed about changes in regulations and industry best practices related to equipment maintenance.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Candidate must be available locally, in Qatar, and able to join immediately.
  • A college diploma or equivalent is required, and additional technical certifications in mechanical or industrial maintenance are desirable.
  • 5year proven experience in industrial equipment maintenance, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, and automation components commonly used in food factories.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing various types of equipment and machinery.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for tracking maintenance activities and managing spare parts inventory.
  • Good understanding of safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure to resolve urgent maintenance issues.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Flexibility in working hours, as maintenance tasks may require occasional night shifts, weekends, or on-call availability.
