Roles & Responsibilities

As an FMCG Procurement Manager based in Qatar, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement activities for Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG). Your primary objective will be to ensure the timely and cost-effective sourcing and procurement of goods while maintaining quality standards. Key responsibilities include:


 

Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Management:

Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.

Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term relationships to ensure the availability of quality goods at competitive prices.

Continuously monitor and assess supplier performance, conduct supplier audits, and implement corrective actions when necessary.


 

Procurement Operations:

Plan, coordinate, and execute procurement activities, including sourcing, supplier selection, order placement, and expediting.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as operations, logistics, and finance, to align procurement activities with overall business requirements.

Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.

Monitor market trends, prices, and supply chain developments to identify opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and process improvements.


 

Contract Management and Negotiations:

Prepare and negotiate commercial agreements, contracts, and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, delivery terms, and service levels.

Ensure contract compliance, manage variations, and resolve any disputes or issues that may arise.

Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure contracts adhere to legal and ethical standards.


 

Supplier Performance and Quality Management:

Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess supplier performance, quality, and delivery timelines.

Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and take appropriate actions to address any performance gaps or issues.

Collaborate with suppliers to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and value-added initiatives.


 

Risk Management:

Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate disruptions or supply shortages.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes that may impact procurement operations.

Implement risk management frameworks and processes to ensure supply continuity and manage potential risks effectively.


 

Desired Candidate Profile

 

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications, such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) or APICS (Association for Supply Chain Management), are desirable.

Extensive experience in procurement, preferably within the FMCG industry.

In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, sourcing strategies, and supplier management.

Strong negotiation, contract management, and analytical skills.

Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
