Job Summary:

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading the procurement activities of the organization, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining high standards of quality and supplier relationships. They manage a team, negotiate contracts, monitor inventory levels, and contribute to strategic decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Lead a purchasing team, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
  • Identify and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and other relevant factors.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve favorable terms and ensure cost savings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, finance, and logistics, to align procurement strategies with business needs.
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and supplier performance to make informed decisions.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels while minimizing carrying costs.
  • Oversee the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Implement and maintain procurement policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with company standards and relevant regulations.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with suppliers to foster collaboration and drive value-added partnerships.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and audits to ensure quality and service level expectations are met.
  • Evaluate and recommend changes to procurement processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage and resolve any supplier-related issues or disputes.
  • Monitor and manage procurement budgets to control costs and achieve financial targets.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be available in Qatar with valid RP and transferrable NOC
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience (8 years) in procurement or sourcing, with a track record of progressively increasing responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and supply chain management.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and systems.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) is advantageous.
