As a Mechanical Engineer based in Doha, Qatar, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing mechanical systems and processes in various projects. Your role will involve applying engineering principles, conducting analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of mechanical solutions. Key responsibilities include:
Mechanical Design and Analysis:
Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and equipment based on project requirements and specifications.
Conduct feasibility studies, perform calculations, and use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed design models and drawings.
Perform structural and thermal analysis to ensure mechanical systems meet performance and safety standards.
Project Management and Coordination:
Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for mechanical engineering tasks.
Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems within overall project requirements.
Mechanical System Installation and Commissioning:
Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment.
Conduct inspections and quality control checks to ensure compliance with design specifications, standards, and regulations.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during installation and commissioning.
Technical Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare technical specifications, reports, and documentation related to mechanical engineering activities.
Maintain accurate records of design changes, project progress, and equipment specifications.
Create operation and maintenance manuals for mechanical systems and provide training to end-users.
Compliance with Codes and Standards:
Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing mechanical engineering practices.
Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and best practices to enhance design efficiency and safety.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost optimization, and innovation in mechanical design and engineering.
Collaborate with the research and development team to explore new technologies and materials for mechanical systems.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree is advantageous.
Professional engineering licensure or registration, if required by Qatar authorities.
Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer, preferably in Doha or a similar market.
Proficiency in CAD software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) and engineering analysis tools.
Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, HVAC systems, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and materials science.
Familiarity with relevant international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ANSI, ISO) and local regulations in Qatar.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
