As a Supply Chain Officer based in Qatar, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating various aspects of the supply chain to ensure efficient operations and timely delivery of goods and services. Your role will involve overseeing procurement, inventory management, logistics, and vendor relationships. Key responsibilities include:
Procurement and Vendor Management:
Identify and evaluate suppliers/vendors based on quality, cost, reliability, and delivery performance.
Conduct procurement activities, including sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
Monitor vendor performance, resolve issues, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Inventory Management:
Plan and forecast inventory needs based on demand, sales projections, and lead times.
Monitor stock levels, track inventory movements, and ensure availability of required materials or products.
Implement inventory control measures to minimize stock-outs, excess inventory, and obsolescence.
Logistics and Transportation:
Coordinate with logistics providers, freight forwarders, and customs agents to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of goods.
Plan and optimize transportation routes, considering factors such as delivery deadlines, cost efficiency, and customer requirements.
Monitor shipment status, track deliveries, and address any issues or delays in transit.
Demand Planning and Forecasting:
Analyze sales trends, historical data, and market demand to forecast future demand accurately.
Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to align supply with demand forecasts.
Assist in developing demand planning strategies and inventory replenishment plans.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Collect, analyze, and interpret supply chain data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving opportunities.
Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as on-time delivery, inventory turnover, and supplier performance.
Present data-driven insights and recommendations to management for strategic decision-making.
Process Improvement:
Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks in the supply chain processes and propose and implement process improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, enhance operational efficiency, and reduce costs.
Stay updated with industry best practices, new technologies, and supply chain trends to drive continuous improvement.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and customs procedures related to supply chain activities.
Mitigate supply chain risks by monitoring market conditions, supplier capacities, and geopolitical factors.
Implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
Proven experience in supply chain management, procurement, or logistics, preferably in Qatar or a similar market.
Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, practices, and methodologies.
Familiarity with procurement processes, vendor management, and contract negotiations.
Proficiency in using supply chain management software, inventory management systems, and data analytics tools.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of customs regulations, import/export procedures, and transportation logistics.
Proficiency in English. Knowledge of Arabic or other languages is an advantage.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of sustainable supply chain practices and corporate social responsibility is a plus.
